North Hants Quilters are a friendly bunch of quilters, sixty five in number, all ages, all levels of experience. We meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month (except August), from 7:30pm to 9:30pm, at the Costello Technology College in Basingstoke (CLICK FOR MAP).
Visitors are always welcome, whether they are old hands or new to quilting. We do ask visitors for a contribution towards the cost of the room and speaker
(£4 for a speaker evening, £3 for a non-speaker evening).
Annual membership is £25 per year, our membership year starts in May.
At our fortnightly meetings we usually take time to enjoy a cup of tea/coffee and a biscuit along with a chat with fellow members and a show and tell of members work when time allows. (We ask that show and tell quilts be kept for meetings when we don’t have a speaker – giving us plenty of time to ask questions after their talk and enjoy the quilts they bring to show us)
We offer a mixed and enjoyable schedule of evening meetings, which include speakers, patchwork shops for retail therapy, mini-workshops, information sharing and hands on patchwork evenings. Where there is a fifth Wednesday in the month one or more of our members will host an open house for club members. We also arrange coach trips to shows or quilting shops as well as workshops and sew-ins.
We have an extensive library of patchwork and quilting books available for loan to members (CLICK FOR LIBRARY LIST). The library is funded by our raffle, which is drawn at each meeting and always offers many patchwork and quilting related prizes to tempt us to buy a raffle ticket or three. We also have a quilt frame available for quilt stretching.
We do hope you will be able to join us at a meeting soon and we look forward to meeting you in person.
